Privacy Policy

1. Core Principles

SlideTalk collects none of your personal information. There is no sign-up or login, no real-world identity, and no data sent back to us in any form.

• Anonymous account — identity is created automatically from Apple's AppTransaction; no registration, no phone number, and the developer only sees a random account identifier
• No telemetry — no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs embedded, no behavior tracking
• Project data lives in the sandbox — all project data stays inside the app's own sandbox container and is deleted on uninstall
• No content storage — the backend keeps only accounts, credit ledgers, pricing and the voice catalog; it stores none of your content

The one exception is when you actively use an AI feature: the necessary content of the relevant pages is forwarded to the model provider through our own gateway. See Section 5 — we've written it plainly, because it is the premise that makes "we collect no data" true at all.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

This app does not collect any of the following:

• Identity information (name, email, phone, Apple ID, etc.) — there is no sign-up flow
• Device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP addresses, or geolocation
• Usage behavior, clickstream, or time-on-page (no telemetry SDKs, no analytics tools)
• Any deck / narration / video / cover content
• Contacts, location, camera, or microphone (the app never requests these permissions)
• Clipboard content (read locally only when you actively paste)

3. What Is Stored Locally

All of the following is kept inside the app's sandbox container and is never uploaded:

• Project files (deck copy, slide images, audio, video, covers) — sandbox Documents/Projects/<project-id>/
• Project metadata (project list, narration, settings) — sandbox Application Support/SlideTalk/store.sqlite
• Session token & credit cache — for the anonymous account, used only to talk to our gateway
• Speech synthesis cache — sandbox Caches/SlideTalk/tts/, so repeated lines play back instantly
• Crash logs — sandbox Application Support/SlideTalk/logs/, written locally only; whether to send them to us is your call
• Privacy consent record — the policy version you accepted and when

Uninstalling the app deletes all of the above along with the sandbox container.

4. Accounts & Credits (Anonymous)

This app has no sign-up or login. It uses Apple's AppTransaction to create an anonymous identity bound to a credit wallet: 600 welcome credits land on first launch, AI generation deducts credits by actual usage, and your balance and ledger are shown live in the app. The developer cannot map the account to any real identity.

Top-ups go through Apple In-App Purchase; credits never expire, and refunds are reversed automatically per Apple's rules. Devices on the same Apple ID share one wallet.

5. AI Features & Our Gateway (the section that matters most)

AI capabilities (writing narration, speech synthesis, cover generation, vision understanding) are routed through our own gateway (SlideTalkApi) to model providers such as Volcengine — you never configure an API key. That means:

• When you use these features, the necessary text of the relevant slide pages is sent to the model provider
• When vision understanding (multimodal) is enabled, the slide image for that page is sent as well
• For voiceover, the narration text to be read aloud is sent
• The gateway only relays and meters — it stores no user content; beyond accounts, ledgers and pricing, the backend persists nothing of yours
• How your content is processed and how long it is retained on the provider's side is governed by the provider's policies — see the Volcengine documentation and the Volcengine Privacy Policy

When you don't run an AI generation, the app sends none of your content to any server. Apart from our gateway, the model providers and the Apple services below, SlideTalk communicates with no third party.

5.1 Apple App Store & App Attest

Anonymous identity creation and top-ups go through Apple's StoreKit and App Attest. Apple may collect transaction-related information; see the Apple Privacy Policy. This app never receives or stores your Apple ID, payment details or similar data — it only keeps the session token issued by our backend.

6. App Sandbox & Security

This app runs inside the system App Sandbox, with these security limits:

• It can only access files and folders you explicitly choose
• Network access is limited to our gateway and the necessary model-provider endpoints
• It cannot access other apps' data, and other apps cannot access its data
• It uses security-scoped bookmarks to persist file access

7. Your Rights

• Data access — everything is on your device and you can inspect it any time
• Data deletion — delete projects in the app any time; uninstalling removes all local data
• Data export — export every generated video, subtitle file, cover, title and so on from the Publish Center
• Withdraw privacy consent — withdraw it in the app's Settings; AI features stop working afterwards
• Pause credit spending — you can stop automatic continuation in Settings to avoid unintended deductions

8. Children's Privacy

This app is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children (this app collects information from no one).

9. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. When the policy version changes, the app will ask for your consent again. Please review this page periodically.
